ICYMI: Morning Joe Panel Discusses Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards’ Political Playbook
Last week, Morning Joe discussed what issues led to Gov. Edwards’ successful reelection and how it could be a model for Democrats running in swing states.
Gov. Edwards’ campaign pollster Zac McCrary talked about Gov. Edwards’ real record of bipartisan accomplishments that made it possible for him to be the first Democrat reelected as governor in 44 years in Louisiana. Gov. Edwards signed an executive order expanding Medicaid to provide health care to 450,000 working people, passed bipartisan criminal justice reform, and gave teachers their first pay raise in a decade.
Senate candidates in Georgia and Texas could take “lessons of how do you talk about the issues” and how to translate that into votes, said MSNBC Contributor Karine Jean-Pierre.
