ICYMI: Dr. Fauci Corrects Mike Parson on Kids and COVID-19
“I think we have to be careful when we talk about that.”
On Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci responded to GOP Missouri Gov. Mike Parson’s outrageous comments on kids and COVID-19. Dr. Fauci explained when it comes to schools, we need to be “realistic” and realize some children do get infected and pass it on to adults. He warned, “I think we have to be careful when we talk about that.”
Last Friday, Parson was anything but careful when he falsely claimed that children who contracted COVID-19 would just “get over it.” Parson received extensive criticism for his cavalier attitude towards the virus and public health guidelines.
This isn’t the first time Parson has spread disinformation about COVID-19 or haphazardly handled an aspect of the public health crisis. Parson previously told Missourians the virus was “no different than the flu” and still refuses to wear a “dang mask” at crowded events.
