Dan Forest Opposes Medicaid Expansion, Has No Plan For Health Care

North Carolina Lt. Gov Dan Forest, currently leading in the race to become the Republican nominee for governor, today admitted that Republicans have no good message on health care. Forest, unsurprisingly, has no plan of his own.
The following exchange aired in an interview with UNC TV’s Marc Rotterman:
Reporter: Are Republicans in general delivering a good message on what they want to do on health care?
Forest: No. I don’t think so at all.
The majority of North Carolinians support Medicaid expansion which would cover more than 500,000 people. Gov. Roy Cooper has been in lockstep with North Carolinians that expanding health care access and lowering premiums is vital. Forest, on the other hand, has yet to release a health care plan.
“Dan Forest has time and again put his radical agenda ahead of North Carolina families and fiscal responsibility,” said DGA National Press Secretary Jerusalem Demsas. “From costing North Carolina $3.76 billion in economic activity by supporting the discriminatory and job-killing HB2 to now leaving an astonishing $36.1 billion on the table by not expanding Medicaid, Dan Forest is showing he can’t put the economic welfare of North Carolina voters over his extreme ideology.”
