How Far Will The Arizona GOP Candidates for Governor Go to Attack Reproductive Freedoms?

Latest News

After staking out extreme anti-choice stances and celebrating the potential end of Roe v. Wade, the entire GOP field for Arizona governor has stayed silent on Arizona Republican Blake Masters suggesting he opposes contraception.

Kari Lake, Karrin Taylor Robson, and Matt Salmon all support a Texas-style abortion ban in Arizona. Lake opposes exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the woman and has called abortion the “ultimate sin.” Robson has vowed to make Arizona the most anti-choice state in the country, and Salmon once attempted to bribe a 14-year-old girl out of getting an abortion after she was raped.

“The extreme anti-choice GOP field has made it clear they would all ban abortion if elected, but clearly they wouldn’t stop there,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “With their fellow Republicans attacking contraception and a future where women could be jailed for seeking abortion care, there is no end to extreme lengths Kari Lake, Karrin Taylor Robson, and Matt Salmon would go to limit a woman’s freedom over her reproductive choices.”
