Heidi Ganahl Doubles Down on Her Radical Agenda with Running Mate Pick Just as Extreme as She Is
After a dumpster fire selection process, GOP nominee for Colorado governor Heidi Ganahl finally picked a running mate who’s just as extreme as she is. Her pick, Danny Moore, is a Big Lie-touting conspiracy theorist who was removed as the head of Colorado’s Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission in a unanimous bipartisan vote over his social media posts claiming there was widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
In numerous media posts, Moore made unfounded claims of mass voter fraud, saying President Joe Biden was “elected by the Democrat steal.” In one post the day after the January 6th insurrection, Moore says, “the election of 2020 will go down as the most questioned election in our country’s history.” Moore also made posts where attacked the media for “lying” about the dangers of COVID-19, which he has referred to as the “Chinese virus.”
Heidi Ganahl has repeatedly embraced conspiracy theories herself. Ganahl spent months refusing to say Joe Biden was legitimately elected and when asked about the legitimacy of the election, said “there’s some shady stuff going on” and that “we have questions about what happened that night.” On top of that, she has proudly endorsed a vigilante-style anti-democracy group, saying the group is full of “great people” who are “doing great things.” In selecting Moore, Ganahl is showing no sign of backing away from her dangerous, radical agenda.
“Colorado GOP now has an extreme conspiracy theorist as its nominee for governor and lieutenant governor,” said DGA Senior Communications Advisor Christina Amestoy. “If it wasn’t already clear what Heidi Ganahl’s agenda was, her pick for running mate solidifies that she’s too radical for Colorado. She can try to shove her extremism under the rug in the general election, but her willingness to embrace lies and conspiracy theories are immediately disqualifying.”
