“At the end of the day, the census isn’t just a head count—it’s about visibility, voice, and value.” – Gov. Evers

Democratic Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers yesterday signed an Executive Order #55 creating a Complete Count Committee for the 2020 census. The committee will work to increase outreach and participation in the upcoming 2020 census, particularly among populations who are at risk of being undercounted. Wisconsin’s hard-to-count population is estimated to consist of 600,000 Wisconsinites.
Gov. Tony Evers is the most recent Democratic governor to take steps to ensure their state is accurately counted in the 2020 census. With the allocation of more than $600 billion in federal funding and each state’s number of congressional seats at stake, states that are undercounted could face both underfunding and underrepresentation for the next decade.
