“Maine won’t wait. Will you?” – Gov. Janet Mills

Democratic Maine Gov. Janet Mills became the first sitting Maine governor to address the United Nations when she spoke at the U.N.’s Climate Action Summit yesterday. In her address, Gov. Mills spotlighted the work she has done since taking office to reverse the years of inaction under GOP Gov. Paul LePage and announced the state’s plans to be carbon neutral by 2045. Mills has received widespread praise for her progressive agenda to reduce Maine’s greenhouse gas emissions and grow its renewable energy economy.
