Governors Shumlin and Hassan Urge Passage of Unemployment Extension

Today Governor of Vermont and DGA Chair Peter Shumlin and Governor Maggie Hassan sent a letter to Speaker John Boehner and Leader Nancy Pelosi urging the passage of the Emergency Unemployment Compensation Extension Act.  This bill would provide economic support for the over 2 million Americans still struggling to find work after years of recession and job loss.
Governors Shumlin and Hassan, and governors across the country, stand ready to implement the Emergency Unemployment Compensation Extension Act.  These unemployment benefits are critical to families and governors across the country have successfully implemented retroactive benefits extensions in the past.
