Gov. Youngkin Vetoes Protections for Contraception and Birth Control, Leaving Door Open for Sears to Attack Reproductive Freedom

DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz released the following statement on Gov. Glenn Youngkin vetoing a bill, which he previously gutted, that would guarantee access to contraception and birth control in Virginia:

“Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s decision to block protections for contraception today is dangerous and exactly why Virginia needs to reject Winsome Earle-Sears in November. She voted against this bill earlier this year and continues to run on her far-right agenda to ban abortion and restrict reproductive rights. Sears should stop hiding and explain to Virginians why she wants to attack reproductive freedom and make it harder for women in Virginia to get the health care they need.”
