Gov. Murphy in Washington Post: “There’s a broad lane available for Dem Govs to reclaim the mantle of core American values”
Today, a new column in the Washington Post details how Democratic governors are standing up against extremist, right-wing attacks on education, including book bans, that are pushing our nation’s finest teachers to resign from careers that they love.
DGA Chair Gov. Phil Murphy, who recently responded to restrictions on AP African American studies courses in Florida by expanding the number of AP African American Studies courses in New Jersey, told the Washington Post: “There’s a broad lane available for Democratic governors to reclaim the mantle of core American values — freedom, patriotism, rights.”
The Washington Post also noted how Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is standing up for education and freedom by pushing for legislation that would fight back against book bans.
