Gov. Hobbs Starts General Election with Strength While Biggs Flounders

While Andy Biggs spent this week revisiting old election denial lies, facing backlash for his cost-hiking agenda, and even missing his own election night party, Gov. Katie Hobbs entered the general election with momentum. Gov. Hobbs spent the week traveling across the state, bringing Arizonans together, and talking about her plans to lower costs for families.

• On Monday, Gov. Hobbs launched a coalition of Latino community members, leaders, and local elected officials, underscoring her commitment to delivering relief for Latino families who are suffering under Washington’s cost-hiking agenda.

• Gov. Hobbs spoke to volunteers on primary night about her record of lowering costs and making health care and housing more affordable. She also highlighted Biggs’ record of voting against seniors and supporting abortion bans, as well as his history of election denial.

• As the votes were counted on Tuesday night, Gov. Hobbs appeared on MS NOW’s The Last Word to discuss her plans to continue lowering costs for Arizonans – in contrast to Biggs’ loyalty to Washington’s cost-raising agenda. Watch the full clip HERE.

• On Wednesday, Gov. Hobbs released two new ads highlighting her record of standing up to powerful interests to protect Arizonans’ water. The TV ad, “World” features a Cochise County farmer who describes how Gov. Hobbs stepped in to help when his farm was losing water. The radio ad, “River” tells the story of how Gov. Hobbs ended a water lease with a Saudi-owned corporation that was draining Arizona’s groundwater.

• On the first stop of her Arizona First Tour, Gov. Hobbs visited Alliance Behavioral Health and hosted a roundtable about how the rising cost of health care is forcing many Arizonans to lose their coverage.

• On Thursday, Gov. Hobbs made two stops in Yuma to connect with voters, first speaking with small business owners at a local restaurant about how rising costs from Washington are hurting them, and later rallying supporters at the grand opening of the Yuma Copper State Victory Office.
