Gov. Glenn Youngkin Admits Trump is Already Costing Virginia’s Budget Nearly $1 Billion

Gov. Glenn Youngkin has finally admitted that Donald Trump’s attacks on Virginia’s workforce and economy are already costing the state nearly $1 billion dollars as he seeks to make Virginians pay for Trump’s dangerous agenda.

On the chopping block are hundreds of millions in funding for first-time homebuyer programs, rental assistance and employee child care assistance, community violence reduction grants, and funding for dementia services in Richmond and Roanoke.

The preparation for a “potential loss of revenue” comes as Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears has been a vocal supporter of Trump’s attacks on Virginia’s workforce and economy, and has even dismissed the concerns of Virginians who are feeling the effects of sweeping layoffs, telling them she “doesn’t understand why” getting laid off is a “huge, huge thing.”

“Despite it being obvious for some time, Glenn Youngkin is finally admitting that Virginia will suffer to the tune of nearly $1 billion under Donald Trump’s attacks on the state’s jobs and economy, which he and Winsome Earle-Sears have proudly supported,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz.“Virginians deserve better than a governor who refuses to stand up for their jobs and livelihoods, and forces families to pay the price for their political cowardice.”
