Gov. Beshear Celebrates Bipartisan Victory By Placing First Legal Sports Bet in Kentucky
Today, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear placed the first legal sports bet at Churchill Downs to celebrate this huge bipartisan win and to commemorate the start of retail sports betting in the Bluegrass state.
This historic new policy will not only reshape how sports and entertainment is done in the commonwealth, but will directly lead to an increase in state revenue that will help fund the hard-earned pensions for teachers and police officers in Kentucky.
“Today marks another huge, bipartisan win in Kentucky thanks to Gov. Andy Beshear’s leadership,” said DGA Communications Director Sam Newton. “When it comes to delivering for the people of Kentucky, you can bet Gov. Andy Beshear will get it done.”
