GOP Tax Plan Passes with Endorsement from Calley, Schuette

Calley and Schuette Supported Raising Taxes For Michigan Middle-Class Families 

Today, the Congressional tax bill endorsed by Michigan Republican gubernatorial candidates Attorney General Bill Schuette and Lt. Gov. Brian Calley is on its way to becoming law. 

The Senate passed the tax reform bill today that will raise taxes on Michigan middle-class families, giving huge tax breaks to the wealthy, and ballooning the national debt. 

Calley and Schuette both endorsed the bill. Calley called it a “game changer” while Schuette said it was “just what the doctor ordered.”

“Republicans in Congress just voted to raise taxes on Michigan middle-class families and Brian Calley and Bill Schuette cheered them on,” said DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold. “Now as they run for governor, Schuette and Calley will have to explain to Michigan voters why they supported raising their taxes. They decided to stand with Washington Congressional Republicans instead of the middle-class families of Michigan. Next year, voters will have an opportunity to send a message to Schuette and Calley about their wrong priorities.”
