Give and You Shall Receive: Parson Rewards Super PAC Donor With Top Appointment
Yesterday, GOP Gov. Mike Parson proved yet again just what a loyal friend he is to those who support his campaign and his Jefferson City buddies. Parson named hth companies inc. CEO Greg Hoberock to the University of Missouri Board of Curators, the governing board for the four-campus system. Hoberock has been a significant supporter of the governor, donating $25,000 to the Super PAC dedicated to Parson’s reelection.
Parson’s Super PAC, Uniting Missouri, is the same group that recently went up on air with a large ad buy to try and prop up the vulnerable governor. Parson has looked increasingly nervous about his reelection chances as Nicole Galloway gains support and rumors of a Greitens-comeback swirl.
“Mike Parson is apparently more than willing to look after his campaign backers than working Missourians,” said Christina Amestoy, DGA Deputy Communications Director. “While rural hospitals continue to close and families struggle to make ends meet, Parson is handing out appointments to his buddies. The message is clear: pony up to Parson’s campaign or fend for yourself.”
