From the Morse’s Mouth: Chuck Morse “Led the Charge” on NH’s Extreme Abortion Ban

During a recent campaign stop, Republican candidate for Governor Chuck Morse reminded New Hampshire voters that he spearheaded the passage of the state’s first ban on abortion in forty years, claiming he “proudly led the charge” on the law that calls for civil and criminal penalties for doctors and health care professionals who provide abortions, including “up to seven years in prison and fines up to $100,000.”

Not only was Morse the architect of the state’s deeply unpopular abortion ban, but he voted against adding exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the child to the bill. Morse has also voted to defund Planned Parenthood, voted to allow pharmacists to refuse to prescribe patients birth control because of their own beliefs, and repeatedly voted against protecting patients from harassment while seeking reproductive health care.

“Granite Staters heard it straight from the Morse’s mouth: Chuck Morse is proud to have led his New Hampshire Republicans’ landmark assault on women’s reproductive freedom,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Izzi Levy. “New Hampshire voters won’t soon forget that he unapologetically and unequivocally backs a law that threatens the lives and livelihoods of New Hampshire women, doctors, and health care providers.”
