Fox News: “Law enforcement officials join ‘coal country’ in snubbing” Daniel Cameron
As Fox News reported, “More than 35 law enforcement officials announced Tuesday their endorsement of Democratic Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear over Republican state Attorney General Daniel Cameron, joining multiple major coal operators” in the broad, bipartisan coalition that wants to stick with Gov. Beshear’s strong, steady leadership.
The bipartisan coalition, Law Enforcement for Beshear, is made up of current and former law enforcement officials who cited Governor Beshear’s “work to pass pay raises, deliver more resources and provide funding for training facilities throughout the Commonwealth” and more as to why they are supporting Governor Beshear for reelection.
Meanwhile, Cameron has failed to investigate disgraced former Governor Matt Bevin’s pardon scandal of more than a dozen violent criminals, including convicted murderers and rapists, in the three and a half years he has been in office. The DGA launched CameronDoesntCare.com to hold Cameron accountable for his failures, and to count how many days it has been since Cameron promised he would “look at” the pardon scandal – 1,273 days as of today. Cameron was recently under fire after casting blame on anyone but himself for rising crime rates, despite the fact that he is the state’s top law enforcement official.
This endorsement comes just days after a coalition of miners and coal operators announced their support for Governor Beshear over Daniel Cameron, stating that Governor Beshear is “a governor who is always there for coal country,” and that the industry “cannot risk losing this leader.”
Read more about why Kentucky’s law enforcement officials are standing with Governor Andy Beshear over Daniel Cameron here or below:
- “Now more than ever, law enforcement needs a strong ally in Frankfort with a record of fighting for us and understanding the sacrifices our officers make to keep our Commonwealth safe,’ Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt, the co-chair of Law Enforcement for Beshear, said in a statement.”
- “Governor Beshear’s work to pass pay raises, deliver more resources and provide funding for training facilities throughout the Commonwealth are all evidence of his unwavering commitment to our law enforcement officers. While other candidates try to dodge responsibility in office, Governor Beshear has shown up and delivered for Kentucky law enforcement.”
- “Hardin County Sheriff John Ward, also a co-chair of the pro-Beshear group, praised the governor for what he said was him standing up for the law enforcement community and having ‘a proven track record fighting for our men and women in uniform.’”
