FOX News: Bruce Rauner is “Friendless”
After nearly losing the primary to an insurgent challenger Tuesday night, FOX News reported that Governor Bruce Rauner is “friendless” and a reporter called him a “governor without a party.”
National Journal’s Josh Kraushaar broke down Rauner’s embarrassingly close call: “He only got 52% of the Republican in the primary vote last night. That’s a really, really big danger sign. It certainly places him as the most vulnerable governor heading into the general election.”
“The Illinois Republican Party is completely divided, lied to, and let down by a failed governor who is not in charge,” said DGA Illinois Communications Director Sam Salustro. “Bruce Rauner can’t even bring his own party together, let alone the state he has entirely failed to lead.”
