Yesterday, Governor Maura Healey launched her reelection campaign “focused on cost-cutting and Trump’s impact” – laying out her record of fighting to make Massachusetts more affordable and defend Bay Staters’ freedoms, jobs, and health care. Gov. Healey is delivering for Massachusetts by capping health care deductibles and co-pays, cutting taxes for the first time in over 20 years, and eliminating renters’ fees while pushing to build over 100,000 new homes.

- “I ran for governor to show up for people who need someone in their corner, to lower costs and increase opportunities. And we’re getting things done,” Healey says in the video. She touts her administration’s in-progress efforts to lower energy bills, having made community college free, steps towards building more housing across Massachusetts, reforms to state veterans services, and having “turned it around” at the MBTA.
- The Healey campaign also highlighted her work to control health care deductibles and co-pays and to protect SNAP benefits from federal cuts, as well as legislation she signed to restrict renter-paid broker’s fees and to enact a series of tax cuts.
- The first-term Democrat said in her campaign launch video that she’s running again “to lower costs, make life better and stand up to Donald Trump.” Healey has been a sharp critic of the president’s immigration enforcement policies and the administration’s threats to cut SNAP benefits.
- A Morning Consult poll from the fall found that Healey was one of the Top 10 most popular governors in the country, with an approval rating of 59% and a disapproval rating of 29%.

- She highlighted legislative wins from her first term, including making school meals free, eliminating renters’ fees, and steps the state has taken to protect residents from hikes in health care premiums.

- Healey highlighted actions she took in her first term: filing legislation meant to reduce energy costs, facilitating the construction of close to 100,000 new homes, capping health care deductibles and co-pays, investing in housing and services for veterans, protecting SNAP benefits, strengthening the MBTA system, and making community colleges free for some students.
- Healey is running for reelection, she said, not just to lower costs but to stand up to the president. She blamed him for policies that raise prices, take away healthcare coverage, and separate families.

- Since she took office in January 2023, Healey has notched several victories. She signed a $1-billion-a-year package of tax cuts, a $5.2 billion borrowing bill aimed at housing affordability, hired a new general manager to reform the MBTA and helped make community colleges free.
- “We’re protecting our people and communities, defending health care and abortion rights, providing access to life-saving vaccines, making sure our children and seniors don’t go hungry, investing in research, creating jobs, lowering costs for all,” she said.
Eagle-Tribune: Healey seeks another term as governor
- Democratic Gov. Maura Healey is pledging to build more housing, lower energy costs and push back against the Trump administration’s divisive policies as she seeks another term in office.
- Healey formally launched her reelection bid Tuesday with a video and a new campaign website that touted her accomplishments over the past three years and lays out her plans for a second term. She will be running with Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll, a former Salem mayor elected with her nearly four years ago.
