Fact-Check Reveals Even More Blatant Lies in Ramaswamy’s Attack Ads

“The ad’s source… is a Cleveland.com story from April that debunks that very claim” … “A Ramaswamy campaign spokesman did not respond to questions about the ad or the evidence behind its claims.”

A new fact-check from Cleveland.com reveals yet again that there is no depth Vivek Ramaswamy will not stoop to —  with his latest ad full of flagrant and already-debunked lies about Dr. Amy Acton.

As Cleveland.com reports, the story that Ramaswamy’s ad uses as proof for its claims is actually an analysis “that debunks that very claim.” The rest of the lies in the ad “don’t include any sources,” and fact-checkers found that Republicans arrived at their conclusions “by making a series of assumptions” and “claiming the former state health director supported policies that she never proposed.”

“Famed scam artist Vivek Ramaswamy knows that his cost-raising agenda is a non-starter for Ohioans, so yet again he is resorting to false claims and disgusting smears about Dr. Acton every chance he gets,” said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. “Ohioans need a governor who will fight for them, not a pathological liar with an agenda that would make him richer while working families foot the bill.”

• The fact-check found that Republicans arrived at the figure by making a series of assumptions about Acton’s platform and claiming the former state health director supported policies that she never proposed – such as an income-tax hike.

• Ramaswamy’s ad doesn’t include any sources for the other claims made in the ad – that Acton would make “everything cost more,” raise Ohioans’ electric bills, and double property taxes.
• A Ramaswamy campaign spokesman did not respond to questions about the ad or the evidence behind its claims.
• Acton has centered her campaign on reducing costs for Ohioans, and her “Affordability Plan” calls for policies ranging from wiping out medical debt to expanding tax credits for children and lower-income families.
