Edwards, Beshear Outraised Their Republican Opponents Last Week
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear both outraised their Republican opponents in reports filed last week.
Gov. Edwards raised more than both Ralph Abraham and Eddie Rispone combined and raised more than any candidate in history in the July to September fundraising period. Abraham and Rispone weren’t able to find many donors willing to support their efforts to take Louisiana back to the failed Jindal era just like the last fundraising period.
Andy Beshear has raised more than $4.1 million since the primary election, surpassing over $6.7 million raised overall. That amount includes the $2.83 million Beshear raised into his general election account and $1.3 million into the Kentucky Democratic Party. Matt Bevin only reported raising $2 million.
“As we head into the homestretch, Gov. Edwards and Andy Beshear are receiving overwhelming support because they put their states first,” said DGA Communications Director David Turner. “With these fundraising numbers, Edwards and Beshear are in a strong position to win and protect people with pre-existing conditions, improve public education, and make progress for working families.”
