Drazan Refuses to Condemn Extreme GOP Election Deniers On Debate Stage
In last night’s final gubernatorial debate in Oregon, Christine Drazan proved once again she’ll stand with MAGA extremists over Oregonians. After being asked directly, Drazan refused to condemn dangerous election denialism in the Republican Party and also stood by her support for Oregon’s GOP senate nominee Jo Rae Perkins — an avowed Q-Anon supporter who was at the insurrection on January 6th.
Drazan doubling down on her support for election deniers is no surprise, considering she’s embraced extreme conspiracy theorists her entire campaign, with Huffpost recently reporting Drazan is “campaigning with a far-right militia leader and taking money from a guy who bankrolled one of the main organizers of the Jan. 6 rally.”Drazan also “recently featured B.J. Soper, a far-right, anti-government militia leader, as a speaker at one of her campaign events.” But when asked about it, her campaign refused to condemn Soper and his violent rhetoric.
“Instead of standing up for Oregon values, Christine Drazan’s decision to stand by the MAGA movement’s extreme election deniers shows she’s on their side,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “Every day that Drazan refuses to denounce her troubling ties to dangerous extremists, she continues to prove she’ll always put her party’s radical agenda first — no matter the cost to Oregon families.”
