Donald Trump Stars In the First TV Ad of New Jersey’s GOP Gov. Primary 

Twice-failed Republican candidate for governor Jack Ciattarelli dropped his first TV ad of the campaign – the first of the Republican primary – and the star of the show was none other than Donald Trump.

 Trump’s prominent feature in Ciattarelli’s first TV ad is also a notable change from his last failed bid for governor in 2021, where not a single ad featured or mentioned Trump, and Ciattarelli even tried to distance himself from the former President after the violent insurrection at the Capitol.

Beyond the new ad, Ciattarelli has taken additional desperate steps to win Trump’s support, especially as talk radio host Bill Spadea, who has a good relationship with Trump, has gained ground with grassroots Republicans across the state.

Ciattarelli walked back his previous comments on pardons for the January 6 insurrectionists, first claiming “people who broke the law should not be pardoned.” Putting loyalty to Trump ahead of police officers, Ciattarelli changed his tune, now claiming “President Trump was right to pardon the men and women present at the Capitol on January 6th…”

Ciattarelli has also backed Trump and Elon Musk’s slash-all approach that threatens jobs, Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare, public schools, and key USDA programs that support New Jersey’s farmers.

“In the very first TV ad of New Jersey’s GOP primary, Jack Ciattarelli is putting his loyalty to Trump above all else,” said DGA Campaign Communications Advisor Emma O’Brien. “While the GOP primary field is more focused on loyalty to Trump and his harmful agenda, New Jersey families are looking for solutions to some of their toughest challenges. They know they won’t get that from this slate of extreme GOP candidates.”
