“Do Not Fret”: Winsome Earle-Sears Once Again Dismisses Concerns of Laid Off Federal Workers in Virginia

New reporting from WTOP reveals that Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears is continuing her streak of enthusiastically supporting Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s sweeping attacks on Virginia’s workforce while dismissing the concerns of Virginians who lost their jobs.

In the interview, Sears once again downplayed the impact that the federal layoffs have had on Virginians, telling them “do not fret.”

This comes as no surprise after Sears previously spoke out in support of Trump and Musk’s job-killing agenda, saying she was “glad that President Trump is getting to the bottom of all of this,” despite Virginia being home to over 300,000 federal workers who could be affected by Trump and Musk’s cuts.

“Instead of standing up for the thousands of Virginia workers at risk of losing their jobs, Winsome Earle-Sears is dismissing their concerns about paying bills and supporting their families,” said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. “Virginians deserve a governor who will stand up for them and protect their jobs, not someone who will downplay the devastating impact that losing a job can have on a worker and their family.”
