DGA Welcomes Gov. Christie Home to New Jersey

Today, the Democratic Governors Association released the following statement welcoming Gov. Chris Christie home for his State of the State Address:

“After spending an astonishing 261 days away from the state last year, we welcome Gov. Christie home to New Jersey,” said DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold. “We’d like to remind Gov. Christie that Manchester is a Township in Ocean County, Dover is a town in Morris County and the Shore isn’t called the Seacoast.

“We’d also like to remind him that New Jersey suffers from infrastructure and public pension disasters he has completely ignored while on the campaign trail. Absentee-Governor Chris Christie has excused himself from his day job as governor in favor of his failing presidential campaign. With priorities like these, it’s hard to imagine a warm welcoming party.”

In 2015 Chris Christie Spent 261 Days Out of New Jersey. According to WNYC, “261. That’s how many days Governor Christie spent out of New Jersey in 2015. And According to New Jersey Public Radio’s Matt Katz, ‘There’s not much really happening in terms of the governance of New Jersey.’ As state matters are squeezed between the governor’s campaign stops and TV appearances, Matt says Trenton has ‘basically ground to halt.’” [WNYC, 1/6/16]
