DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement in response to Wes Moore’s primary victory in Maryland:

“Congratulations to Wes Moore on winning the Democratic nomination for Maryland governor. A third–generation Marylander who was raised by a single mother after his father died when he was 3, Wes went on to become a combat veteran, Rhodes Scholar, small business owner, and CEO of one of the nation’s largest anti-poverty organizations. Wes knows how to overcome hardships and deliver real results. Now, he’s running on a bold vision to build an economy where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and ensure every child has access to a world-class public education.
