DGA Statement on Vermont GOP Primary Results

DGA Executive Director Noam Lee today issued the following statement on Vermont Gov. Phil Scott becoming the official GOP nominee for governor:

“Vermont Gov. Phil Scott has stood in the way of progress and failed working families. Under Scott’s watch, multimillionaires have gotten richer, and working Vermonters have suffered. 

“Scott caved to partisan pressure,  dragging his feet to purposely block vote-by-mail efforts critical to protecting our democracy in the time of a global pandemic. He’s worked to cut Medicaid funding and supported a plan that could have cut health care funding for children by 33 percent. 

“Phil Scott may talk a big game about being a moderate, but his action to gut health care for thousands of Vermonters speak louder. Vermonters deserve a governor who puts their interests first.”
