DGA Statement on Tudor Dixon Joining the MI GOP’s Gubernatorial Field of Fringe, Far-Right Extremists
Today, far-right internet talk show host Tudor Dixon announced her run for governor in Michigan, joining a field of far-right, fringe gubernatorial candidates and spotlighting the Michigan Republican Party’s continued failure, as numerous potential candidates have decided to avoid the race, including “dream candidate” Candice Miller, RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, and Congressman Fred Upton, among others.
Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Noam Lee released the following statement:
“Tudor Dixon is a right-wing extremist who has demonstrated time and time again that she will always place Donald Trump’s toxic agenda above Michiganders. She is best known for speaking at anti-vaccine rallies and being an adamant supporter of the ‘Big Lie’ that led to the deadly insurrection on January 6th.
“Each time another extreme candidate enters the race, they do nothing but turn off more and more voters as the Michigan Republican Party continues to embrace unpopular and dangerous policies.
“As Republicans in the gubernatorial primary fight to prove their loyalty to Donald Trump and his dangerous policies, Governor Whitmer continues to exhibit unifying and decisive leadership that’s revitalizing the economy, getting shots in arms and reopening Michigan.”
