DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement in response to Tina Kotek’s primary victory in Oregon:
“Congratulations to Tina Kotek on winning the Democratic nomination for Oregon governor. As a historic Speaker of the House, Tina made record investments in education and affordable housing, raised the minimum wage, chartered a path to 100% clean energy and secured passage of one of the nation’s strongest laws to safeguard reproductive rights.
“As governor, she’ll not only make history as the first lesbian governor in the country, but will also make life better, safer and more affordable for Oregon families. The DGA looks forward to supporting her.”
