Today, 2023 DGA Chair and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy released the following statement on New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s inauguration:

“Congratulations to Gov. Kathy Hochul on her inauguration as governor of New York. Gov. Hochul made history on Election Night as the first woman elected governor of New York and was rewarded by voters for her strong leadership in the face of challenges. 

“Gov. Hochul has worked hard to make a better future for all New Yorkers, making historic investments in education, infrastructure, affordable housing, and health care. She has continually stepped up to defend reproductive freedom, take action on gun violence, and lower costs for the working families of New York.

“Over the next four years, Gov. Kathy Hochul will continue to make progress to push New York towards a better future.”
