DGA Statement on Stefanik and Lawler Voting to Slash Medicaid and Food Assistance in New York

In response to Elise Stefanik and Mike Lawler voting to pass extreme cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in order to give tax cuts to the ultra wealthy, DGA spokesperson Kevin Donohoe released the following statement: 

“Today, Elise Stefanik and Mike Lawler sold out millions of New Yorkers to Donald Trump and his billionaire backers. Stefanik and Lawler were key votes to kick 1.5 million New Yorkers off their health insurance, risk 363,000 children going hungry, and threaten 215,000 jobs across the state. If they run for Governor, today’s vote will be kryptonite with New Yorkers.”
