DGA Statement on Stacey Abrams Becoming the Democratic Nominee for Georgia Governor
DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement in response to Stacey Abrams officially becoming the Democratic nominee for Georgia governor:
“Stacey Abrams is a powerhouse leader with a plan to address the issues that matter most to working families, like expanding Medicaid, improving health care access in rural areas, and fully funding public schools. With her proven record of taking on big fights, Georgians can count on Stacey to get things done for them.
“No one has energized Georgians like Stacey Abrams and the unprecedented momentum behind her people-powered movement should leave Republicans shaking in their boots. The DGA was the largest backer of Abrams’ campaign in 2018 and we look forward to working hand-in-hand with her campaign to elect her as Georgia’s next governor.”
