DGA Statement on Scott Walker Declining to Run for Governor of Wisconsin

DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy released the following statement in response to Scott Walker’s announcement that he will not run for governor of Wisconsin again:

“Even political opportunist Scott Walker knows he can’t defend his failed record of attacking workers, stripping away rights, underfunding public schools, and allowing the state’s roads and bridges to fall into dangerous disrepair. With or without Walker, Wisconsin Republicans are already angling to stake out the most extreme territory possible. That’s a huge contrast with the steady, bipartisan leadership that Wisconsin voters have repeatedly opted for — and the DGA looks forward to ensuring Wisconsin elects another strong Democratic governor.”
