DGA Executive Director Noam Lee released the following statement on Scott Jensen officially becoming the Republican nominee for governor in Minnesota:

“Scott Jensen and his running mate Matt Birk are radical extremists whose far-right agenda only serves to distract and divide Minnesotans. 

“The Jensen-Birk ticket has promised to ban abortion, even in cases of rape and incest. They proudly defended comments that belittled survivors of rape and sexual assault and compared abortion to slavery. Jensen also is well-known for spreading disinformation about the 2020 election and COVID-19 — and then threatening to fire the board of doctors investigating him for his false claims if elected governor.

“Minnesotans want to continue to move forward with strong public schools, safe communities an economy that uplifts everyone. Scott Jensen’s far-right extremism would move the state in the wrong direction.”
