DGA Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper released the following statement in response to Aaron Guckian becoming the Republican nominee for governor in Rhode Island:
“At a time when Donald Trump is using Republican governors across the country to implement his agenda that jacks up costs on working families, Rhode Island can’t go backward by electing Republican Aaron Guckian. Guckian is the wrong person to lead Rhode Island as the state fights back against Trump’s attacks on Rhode Islanders’ freedoms, jobs, and health care. As governor, he’d bring back the failed Republican policies of the past – allowing Donald Trump’s agenda to take hold in Rhode Island. We are confident that we will defeat Aaron Guckian and keep Rhode Island blue this November.”
