DGA Statement on Nicole Galloway’s Victory in Missouri Primary
DGA Chair New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy today issued the following statement on State Auditor Nicole Galloway’s primary victory in Missouri:
“Congratulations to Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway on her primary victory tonight. A native Missourian, Nicole has spent her career protecting the hardworking families of Missouri and fighting for transparency and fairness. One of the biggest problems in Missouri is the rising cost of health care – as state auditor, Nicole launched numerous investigations into waste and fraud in Missouri’s health care system, including a $90 million fraudulent billing scheme. Her audits have uncovered more than $350 million in wasted or stolen taxpayer money and resulted in 60 criminal counts brought against corrupt public officials from both political parties.
“As governor, Nicole will negotiate down the cost of prescription drugs, protect coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, expand Medicaid, and restore coverage to the 100,000 children who had their insurance ripped away by Mike Parson. She will put an end to the corrupt pay to play system in Jefferson City, clean up the state government, and put your tax dollars towards what matters most.
“The DGA looks forward to fighting with Nicole Galloway for a new way in Missouri.”
