DGA Statement on New Jersey Gubernatorial Debate
Tonight, DGA Communications Director Jared Leopold issued the following statement on New Jersey’s gubernatorial debate:
“Tonight’s debate made crystal clear that Phil Murphy has the experience and ideas New Jersey needs. He will strengthen the state’s economy, invest in its infrastructure, and expand access to quality education and healthcare for everyone across the Garden State. Meanwhile, despite Kim Guadagno’s best attempt to run away from her resume, New Jersey voters know that she was ‘proud’ to be part of the disastrous Christie Administration. She stood with Christie through 11 credit downgrades, crumbling infrastructure, underfunded schools, defunding Planned Parenthood, and damaging ethics scandals.
“Between her major stumble when she bizarrely asserted that tax reform would somehow help DREAMers stay in the United States, her losing campaign message, and toxic party brand, Kim Guadagno had a rough evening.
“Murphy delivered a commanding performance tonight and made it more clear than ever that he is the right choice to lead New Jersey.”
