DGA Statement on Missouri Governor’s Race  

WASHINGTON D.C., — Following today’s announcement by Senator Claire McCaskill that she has decided not to seek the office of Governor and instead will support Attorney General Chris Koster, DGA Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson released this statement:

“As a career prosecutor who has always put Missouri families and their safety first, Attorney General Chris Koster is the right kind of leader to be Missouri’s next Governor.  General Koster has a track record of winning tough races and, with over $2.5 million in the bank and a grassroots base across the entire state, he’s well-positioned for another tough fight in 2016.  Senator McCaskill has been a great leader and an effective Senator for the people of Missouri, and we are excited to work with both her and General Koster to ensure that Democrats retain the Governor’s office next year.”
