DGA Statement on Louisiana Gubernatorial Race

Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Elisabeth Pearson released the following statement today on the closing of the filing period for the Louisiana gubernatorial election.

“John Bel Edwards has spent his life fighting for the people of Louisiana. A graduate of West Point, Edwards served our nation as a rifle commander in the 82nd Airborne. In the state legislature, he voted to invest in public schools, support job creation and ensure equal pay for equal work. As the Democratic candidate for governor, John Bel Edwards will put Louisiana first.”
