WASHINGTON, DC—Democratic Governors Association Communications Director Danny Kanner today issued the following statement regarding Ken Cuccinelli’s ongoing Star Scientific gifts scandal:
 
“For months, Ken Cuccinelli has said he can’t ‘unring the bell’ on the $18,000 in shady gifts he took from scandal-scarred Star Scientific and its CEO Jonnie Williams. But today, he proved that only one thing really motivates him: his own political survival. As Virginians have learned more about Cuccinelli’s ethical challenges, the bleaker his electoral prospects have become. Unfortunately for him, today’s desperate act and fraudulent apology won’t save Cuccinelli’s flailing campaign – Virginians already know he’s unfit to be their governor.”
