DGA Communications Director Sam Newton released the following statement in response to former Gov. Jeff Colyer running for governor in Kansas:
“Sam Brownback’s failed right-hand man Jeff Colyer is back again. Besides reminding Kansans of the broken budgets and underfunded public schools of the Brownback era, Colyer’s announcement confirms that the GOP primary field is going to be crowded, chaotic, and focused on extreme partisan policies.
“In contrast, Governor Laura Kelly has shown Kansans what steady, middle-of-the-road leadership can accomplish – balanced budgets, record economic investments, and finally eliminating the food tax. That’s exactly the type of leadership Kansans will want to stick with, no matter who enters the race.”
