DGA Statement on Jim Pillen Winning the Nebraska GOP Primary for Governor
DGA Executive Director Noam Lee released the following statement on Jim Pillen winning the GOP primary for governor of Nebraska:
“Republicans across the country have had nasty and extreme GOP primaries that are leaving behind damaged nominees and a deeply divided party — and Nebraska is a perfect example.
“Jim Pillen is a hypocritical and out-of-touch politician who will do nothing to change the same failed policies in Omaha that have led to sky-high property taxes, crumbling infrastructure, and less opportunity for Nebraska families. Even his fellow Republicans have spent this brutal primary slamming Pillen for refusing to pay his taxes and facing a lawsuit saying his company falsified records, while he also tried to claim he was ‘sick of Washington’ but had no problem collecting millions in federal government aid. Those attacks will continue to haunt Pillen for the rest of this election, as Nebraskans deserve better leadership.”
