DGA Statement on Governor Gina Raimondo’s Primary Victory

Tonight, Democratic Governors Association Chair Governor Jay Inslee (WA) released the following statement on Governor Gina Raimondo’s primary victory in Rhode Island:
“Congratulations to my friend Governor Gina Raimondo on her primary victory tonight in Rhode Island. Under Raimondo’s leadership, Rhode Island has turned the corner: its economy has gone from one of the worst in the nation to one of the best, and more people in the state are working now than any time in a decade. She’s recruited or expanded companies that are on pace to hire more than 2,000 well-paid workers.
“But Governor Raimondo’s work isn’t done. In her second term, she will continue her efforts to make sure every Rhode Islander is included in the state’s economic success. From expanding access to quality education and workforce training to growing the state’s clean energy economy and protecting access to health care, Governor Raimondo will keep fighting for what matters to Rhode Island families.”
