DGA Chair Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear released the following statement on Xavier Becerra being elected the next governor of the state of California:
“Congratulations to Xavier Becerra on being elected the next governor of California. He is also making history as the first Latino governor to be elected in California. Xavier has spent his career fighting for California families, leading the charge against the Trump administration’s unlawful actions as attorney general, and delivering affordable, accessible health care as secretary of Health and Human Services. As governor, he will continue to stand up to Trump’s attacks and ensure all Californians can afford health care, rent, and groceries. The DGA is proud to work with him as he continues delivering for the Golden State.”
