Today, DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper issued the following statement on Gov. Janet Mills securing the Maine Democratic gubernatorial nomination:

“In her first term, Gov. Janet Mills has always put the needs of working Mainers over partisan politics. Issue after issue, her steady, bipartisan leadership has delivered real results for Maine families after years of partisan gridlock and neglect. Gov. Mills is leading Maine forward — following through on her promises to deliver relief for families, strengthen the economy, expand access to health care, invest in public education, and fight climate change.
