DGA Statement on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Submitting Signatures to Get on the Ballot

Today, DGA Chair Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer submitted signatures to get her name on the ballot in the 2022 race for governor:

“Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is a strong leader who always puts Michigan first. By working across the aisle, she’s lowering costs and delivering $400 checks for every Michigan driver to tackle high auto insurance rates. She also landed the largest investment in General Motors history, which will create 4,000 jobs, and made the state’s largest investment in K-12 education — all without raising taxes and while she works to ‘fix the damn roads.’ Gov. Whitmer has delivered on her promise to tackle the biggest problems that families face every day — and we’ll have all hands on deck to keep supporting her reelection.”
