DGA Statement on Gov. Gavin Newsom Advancing to the General Election for Governor of California
DGA Chair North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement in response to Gov. Gavin Newsom advancing to the general election for governor of California:
“Congratulations to Gov. Gavin Newsom on securing the Democratic nomination for governor in California. In the face of crises, he has led with compassion and common sense while following science, celebrating diversity, defending democracy, protecting the planet, and planting seeds for the future.
“Gov. Newsom brought Californians together and now the state is coming back stronger than ever thanks to progressive policies like creating good-paying jobs, increasing access to affordable housing, and funding public education. The DGA looks forward to supporting Gov. Newsom as he continues to fight for progress and opportunity for all.”
