Today, as North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum announced his campaign for president, Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper released the following statement:
“As Democratic governors across the country are finding ways to actually help working families get ahead and protect fundamental freedoms in their states, Republican governors like Gov. Doug Burgum only care about stoking culture wars and pushing an extreme agenda on their constituents. As Gov. Burgum leaves the state to pursue his national ambitions, North Dakotans deserve much more from their next governor than Burgum’s legacy of failure.”
