DGA Statement on Doug Mastriano Looking to Enter Pennsylvania Governor’s Race

Today, state Rep. Doug Mastriano announced he is forming an exploratory committee for a potential run for Pennsylvania governor.

Democratic Governors Association Executive Director Noam Lee released the following statement:

“Doug Mastriano is a far-right extremist who will only accelerate the Pennsylvania GOP’s messy and crowded primary race to the bottom. He’s completely disregarded the issues that matter to Pennsylvanians like growing the economy and improving education, in favor of false and dangerous conspiracies. He even spent thousands to bus insurrectionists to the Capitol attack where police officers were killed and has since made conducting a sham election audit to overturn the will of Pennsylvania voters his only mission. 

“The Republicans in the Pennsylvania primary have already demonstrated their priorities lie with far-right, anti-democratic antics. Mastriano’s likely entrance into the race is just further proof that the eventual Republican nominee will be wildly out-of-touch and harmful to Pennsylvania families, workers, and businesses.”
