DGA Communications Director Sam Newton issued the following statement in response to Donald Trump endorsing Randy Feenstra for governor in Iowa:
“Rapidly declining in the polls and facing backlash from grassroots voters, it’s not surprising Randy Feenstra begged Washington to bail out his weak, no-show campaign for governor in the final days of this chaotic GOP primary. The only thing this confirms is that Randy Feenstra will continue to be a rubber stamp for the hyperpartisan D.C. agenda hurting Iowa that he’s voted for in Congress: slashing health care, threatening rural hospitals, raising the cost of gas and groceries and devastating Iowa’s farmers. Simply put, no endorsement will change the fact that Feenstra — and the rest of the field — are all part of the same chaotic D.C. swamp and failed Kim Reynolds status quo that will make life in Iowa even worse.”
